We have school off on Martin Luther King Jr. day, but not veteran's day. The reason on why I believe this is so is because we always have our veteran's day assembly to honor the veterans that fought for our freedom. We should proudly salute to all who risked their lives just for us. On the other hand though, Martin Luther King Jr. day also fights for everyone's freedom, we don't go to school. Why is that? I personally think it's just because it gives the teachers an extra day to talk about new ideas and plans for the school and to grade papers and anything they would do on a regular teacher development day. I honestly don't mind if we have school or not on any of those days because I know I will honor and praise both the veterans, and Martin Luther King Jr...
